Castle to Crane is the biggest open water rowing race to be held in Scotland. 13 miles of fierce racing from Dumbarton Castle to the Finnieston Crane in the heart of Glasgow. A fleet of 75 rowing boats will race up the Clyde on Saturday the 15th September.
The race is open to any fixed seat, coxed rowing boats of at least four oars.
The route of the race passes many iconic places on the Clyde: Dumbarton Castle itself; under the Erskine bridge; past old ship yards and functioning commercial docks. For more details go to The Course
This year we will be increasing the fees to £100 per boat +VAT (so £120) as we’ll be including tickets to the afterparty automatically for your whole crew with your booking. We know by adding VAT last year this was effectively a fee increase so we’re cautious of doing it two years in a row. But we really believe it’ll give a much nicer community feel the evening event and make our job as organisers much more manageable. We still feel that this is a very reasonable fee for such a great event!
